Meet the Doulas
Hi! I’m Kayla Albright, and I have always been fascinated by pregnancy and childbirth. This led to me having 6 beautiful babies of my own, then doula work for the past 4 years, and now birth assistant to our wonderful local midwives for the past year. I love helping mamas!

If you would have told me a decade ago I would be helping other women overcome the fear surrounding pregnancy and birth I would have booked you an uber to get checked out. Pregnancy and birth were my biggest fears for the majority of my life. I began realizing with time that the only way I would overcome the fear would be if I confronted it head on.
So I deep-dived into what birth could ACTUALLY be like. I was in for the shock of my life when I discovered the beauty and power of a fear-free birth. I believe it's one of the most empowering rite of passages a woman will ever experience.
I believe when 2 Timothy 1:7 said "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." That birth was not excluded from that promise!
I now get the privilege of helping other women embrace their God-given right of a fear free birth. And If I can do it, you can too. Let me help you kick fear in the face and embrace courage in your birth journey.
I'll be here for you every step of the way.

Hi! I am a wife, mama of 5, and a Certified Birth Doula and Midwifery Assistant. I grew up in Louisiana and attended Louisiana College, where I met my husband. My interest in birth work began with the birth of our first child and the incredible care I experienced with my doula and childbirth educator. From that experience, along with the birth of four more children and the need I saw around me, grew my passion to provide compassionate, respectful, and knowledgeable care to mothers and families. I began teaching parents and attending births in 2004 in the Memphis area. I focused more on teaching at the beginning and moved into attending births as my children grew older. We later moved to the Tri-Cities where I began supporting families here as a doula in 2017 and assisting midwives in 2023. It has been a joy to serve my community this way!

Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Midwifery Assistant
Hello, and congratulations on this beautiful time! I am a Your Birth Helper® Certified Doula and Childbirth Educator serving women in the Tri-Cities area. I am in this service to families because I experienced first hand the difference it can make! My husband and I were trained in the Bradley Method®, a 12 week comprehensive childbirth class encompassing pregnancy comforts, anatomy, relaxation, nutrition, exercise, complications, stages of labor, birth plans, and so much more. We also hired our childbirth instructor to be our doula and support us through the duration of labor, but it was so much more than that. Pregnancy and labor are such an emotionally vulnerable time. It's vital to have a birth team to lean on and feel supported through it all. I hope to empower couples through education, provide care, a safe place and build a lasting connection. I believe all women deserve to know the same support we received, and I want to help create happier birth stories for women. Come check out my FREE Childbirth Class the first Tuesday of most months at the Bristol Public Library in Bristol, VA! Come alone or bring your husband or a friend!
